Breast Ultrasound
Sound waves are used in ultrasound imaging of the breast to create images of the internal anatomy of the breast. It’s mostly used to identify breast lumps or other abnormalities discovered by a physical exam, mammography, or breast MRI by your doctor. Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive, and radiation-free procedure. Doppler ultrasonography is a type of ultrasound that assesses the movement of materials throughout the body. It allows the doctor to see and assess blood flow through the body’s arteries and veins. Ultrasound imaging of the breast creates a picture of the breast’s internal anatomy.
